π¨ Layout Optimization & Design Strategies
Modular Design Strategy (RECOMMENDED)
Each 8Γ5 plot is treated as a self-contained room or yard. This prevents design frustration when expanding.
- β Expansion doesn't require redesigning existing areas
- β Each plot serves a specific purpose
- β Clean, organized property layout
- β Better pathfinding and navigation
- β Easier to move/redesign individual sections
π‘ Example: Plot 1: House + Main Entry | Plot 2: Garden/Farm | Plot 3: Workshop/Crafting | Plot 4: Outdoor Lounge | Plot 5: Secondary Garden | Plot 6: Storage/Production | Plot 7: Decorative Yard | Plot 8: Expansion Zone
Recommended Plot Purchase Order
FIRST (Level 4 - Plots 3-4)
Buy plots directly adjacent to your starting 2 plots
SECOND (Level 6 - Plot 5)
Extend your 2Γ2 block into a 2Γ3 or 3Γ2 line
THIRD (Level 8 - Plot 6)
Add courtyard or decorative space across from house
FINAL (Levels 11 & 14 - Plots 7-8)
Fill remaining gaps or create specialized zones
Design Mistakes to Avoid
β DON'T buy diagonal plots first (creates awkward gaps)
β DON'T scatter plots randomly (makes design difficult)
β DON'T forget pathways when planning (people need to walk)
β DON'T ignore load limits (each plot has a furniture cap)
β DO plan before purchasing plots
β DO keep utilities together (storage, crafting, cooking)
β DO leave edges free for future expansion connections

β Frequently Asked Questions
Can I move my house after placing it?
Yes! You can move your main house, workbench, and building platform to new locations within your plots. This gives you flexibility in redesigning your layout.
What happens if I run out of load limit?
You'll reach a cap on the number of furniture pieces and decorations you can place. You must unlock new plots to increase your load limit.
Can I have multiple home designs?
Yes! Save multiple designs as blueprints. In co-op play, you can switch between different blueprint designs.
How do I earn gold efficiently for plots?
Best methods: Fishing (1,000-1,500g/hour), Cooking recipes (1,200-1,500g/hour), Gardening (800-1,200g/hour). Combining multiple methods is most efficient.
Is plot expansion necessary to enjoy the game?
No! You can enjoy Heartopia with just 2-4 plots. However, more plots give you more creative freedom and space for hobbies like gardening.
Can I change my house style after building it?
Completely! You can modify walls, colors, textures, or demolish and rebuild from scratch anytime without losing resources.
What's the fastest way to level D.G. Member ranks?
Complete all 5 daily Resident Requests every single day. This nets 150-250 medals daily. Consistency matters more than grinding long sessions.
Can friends help decorate my house?
In co-op mode, yes! Players can visit each other's homes and even place decorations together if you enable co-op building.
Do I lose decorations if I unlock new plots?
No! Your existing decorations remain in place. New plots simply add adjacent space.
What's the ideal home layout for a casual player?
4-5 plots is perfect for casual play. This gives you: main house, garden area, hobby space, and some decorative area. Doesn't require excessive grinding.
